PROFOUND SOUND is put together by the Folkestone Fringe and is building momentum with every year. For 2019’s event in February, I was invited to jump in and document some of the bands on the main stage at the Quarterhouse, as well as some of the fringe events in the UCA Project Space.
As always, there were some very exciting performances–maybe not by household names–but expertly curated and innovative in all cases. I really enjoyed Hunrosa and the ensemble piece by George Clift, Georgina Treloar and Jon Law. Well worth a visit in 2020, if you get the chance.
